Here's the latest

Because inquiring minds want to know.....

I went to the Doctor today and, drum roll please.......Nothing. Not a thing has changed. I'm not dilated at all. No part of me is physically ready. Of course that could change any time. We sure want it to as if I don't go into labor on my own by Sunday they are going to start the process on Sunday, then induce on Monday. I'm not going into detail but the process sounds painful, more painful than childbirth alone. So, lets all pray I go into labor naturally.
We asked about not being induced and she said that she wouldn't recommend it as the placenta is already breaking down and it's more likely I would have to have a C-section because of his size, and many other medical reasons.

So, there's the latest. Pray he just GETS OUT!! :)

Oh praying, praying...

Pam I always knew you were stubborn, but this is a little ridiculous. Dilate already!

We will be praying for his safe delivery and SOOOOON!! Believe me they are more than worth the wait! Just watching my precious boys grow so fast makes me sad and ready for the next installment.Oh well I guess I had better get used to waiting because the next should be Kimberly and Christopher and they are not even married YET!!!!

let me just say - they "started the process" with me and it wasn't that bad. i was scared to death and it was way easier than i thought. then they induced me and nothing really happened. i only dilated to a 4. worst case scenario was that I had to have a c-section and i would do it all over again! i thought it would be a horrible recovery, but each day was exponentially better than the one before it. no matter what happens, its the most amazing experience you'll ever have! it will bring you and james together like nothing else. and let me tell you, you will want that baby out so bad, you won't care how it happens. i can't wait for you to experience it! anxiously waiting to hear the news!

Thanks for the update. My inquiring mind wanted to know.
Doctors can be so stinkin' pushy. I'm all for waiting on the baby. A friend of mine gave birth last summer and was 4 weeks overdue - had she used a doctor she NEVER would have been allowed to go that late. But everything was fine, although he was gigantic (over 11 pounds). Besides inductions increase the rate of c-sections too.
The good news is, everything can happen on it's own without any warning signs at all! I'll be praying you go into labor on your own. I am going to pray that it happens on Friday because I like Fridays. I like to pray sprecifically. ;)

My sister was induced 5 days after her due date and she delivered naturally. Hang in there Pam, I will pray you go into labor naturally, and that everything goes smoothly.

Just to let you know I was induced for all three boys. It wasn't to bad. It will make it all worth it in the end when you are holding your perfect little boy.

I'm sure you are uncomfortable, but try and walk, walk, walk. I couldn't stand on my feet more than 5 minutes without my legs turning purple, but my mom was determined to get things started. I went to look at wedding dresses with kim and mom that night and tried to walk as much as I could. And what do you know my contractions started about an hour after I got home...you never know. ~Melissa

Hi Pam,
Hope you have a good day at the school art fair with the kids. Keep that walking up! I know you've done a lot of it lately. It will be good to see the kids tonight. Everything is packed to leave on Sunday unless he wants to come earlier.
