My First Mothers Day as a Mom

My kids are awesome!! I just had to start with that. I love my kids.

10 months ago I was scared to become a mom to two kids. I knew it would be great, but I never expected how great. Today was a great reminder of how much the kids and I mean to each other. The kids a couple of months ago started to call me Mom and it feels so right. To all of us. I quit my job to be with them full time, and this Mother's day I was reminded by them over and over again what a great decision that was. I know they are not my flesh, but they are my kids through and through.

They both showered me with extra love today and I soaked it all in. :) Hannah gave me two cards and both of them reminded me of what is important to her. It's not the stuff we do, or the things we get, it's just that Mom's there. She had a card she made at school and I'm not sure if you can read it, but it says " the best thing about my mom .....She's there to be with me". The kids both told me lots this morning that they are so glad I'm at home when they get home from school, I go to school and help, and I make their lunches. May not seem big to most, but to two kids that don't really remember having lived with their mom, it's huge in their world. God blessed me so incredibly!!!! I don't know it God will ever bless me with giving birth to a child, but I do know that if He doesn't, I won't have to wonder what it's like to be a mom.

The pictures are a couple of the sweet things the kids made me. The necklace is priceless from James IV. He was so excited to give it to me. He then told me he found it :) Kids don't have much money, so I thought that was cool! It has an arrowhead hanging from it, and I have to say, it is probably a little girls belt off her pants. :) To him though, it is a precious jewel. It's pretty precious to me too.

We spent the day in Saginaw to be with my Mom and Grandma. You'll have to wait until tomorrow to hear how awesome my Mom is....but most of you already know :)

What sweet gifts. I am sure your presence in the home provides much security for the kids.
