On the Barakel Bus!

James left for Barakel this morning. He was a little nervous yesterday but did just fine this morning. He was thrilled to ride the bus his grandpa was driving.

I didn't cry in front of him, but I did after I got in the car. I'll miss him, he is a real sweet boy and I love his kisses and hugs at night when I tuck him in. I also cried because I always wanted my kids to go to Barakel as campers, and now one is. So cool!!

Pam, we're going to have lots of those days of tears as our kids get bigger and bigger. I'm counting down to kindergarten.

He held on to "puppy" all the way to camp. When we got there he asked where he was supposed to go. I told him to look for Koli (I don't know how to spell it) Johnson, Kiev and Matt's boy, who was going to be his buddy. The next thing I knew he was running down the path with him and never looked back. He will do just fine. I did get a chance to tell him I would pray for him each day that God would speak to his heart. He may be disappointed to find that I will not be driving his bus next week to take him home. I am looking forward to having Hannah for a few days while he is gone.

Oh the ol summer stomping grounds, those were the days, and we all said we couldnt wait to have our kids come to camp. You beat us all Pam ! I am sooooo excited for you and for James. Cant wait till Olivia can enjoy our 2nd home :) I can sit and laugh, cry and ache with physical pain and just in awe of the precious and awesome memories. Who would have thought the counselor that hit on me on west side dock would be my hubby, heeeeheee. Everyone laughs at that :)

The Barakel buses brought back a million and one memories. I reminded him that Barakel is where life long friendships are made, like the one I have with Stephanie.
He is going to have a blast, and I'm sure while he is busy, home is the last thing on his mind. That doesn't make me sad at all, I want him to enjoy every minute.
