Evan Philip Wickman

He has arrived, at last!! Sorry it has taken so long to update. As most of you know by now I had a C-Section and I have been out of it and nauseated all day.

So here's what happened. I came in on Monday and they gelled me. Which did pretty much nothing. So again at 12:00 they gelled me again. This time as the Dr. was talking to me about going home my water broke.

After contractions steady at only 6 min. apart, they gave me some pitocin. I then went steady at 2 minutes apart for another 14 hours. So I labored in totatl 20 hours and was only at a 4 dilated. He had not even dropped near the birth canal. Because my water had broke, fear of infection, and many other reasons, a C-section was the best option. So, 1 hour after at 6:00am Evan Philip Wickman arrived healthy and perfect. Can a boy be pretty? 8 lbs. 1 oz 20 1/2 inches long. Here is one picture of him. Grandpa has more. Check out his site and congratulate Grandpa and Grandma. The posts, I'm sorry will not be as frequent as I want to. Love you all and thank you so much for the prayers. They were certainly felt.

Thanks for the Post Pam, I must admit I'm amazed that you were feeling well enough to post. We all could have waited.
I'll be praying that you will be feeling better. After surgery and all your laboring it must be terrible to feel nauseated.
The pictures are beautiful. What a nice looking boy. He wasn't small by any means.
Congratulations again!

I thought all my babies were pretty, even the boys. OK, I thought Tommy was a little homely for a while, but by 4 months I thought he was my prettiest baby. :) He is yours you call him whatever you want to.

You're amazing! My labor with Jackson was pretty much like yours, ending in a c-section, and while I was not a blogger at the time, I am quite sure I would not have blogged! I think Evan is so cute!!! Do you think Reese will be a little old for him?

Congratulations Pam and family! I think that you can see that everyone was waiting impatiently. Definitely a blessing worth waiting for. Rest up and again, congrats.

Pa-Mella,
God gives good gifts....and yours looks like a pretty good gift, eh? WOWZERS, that's a LOOOOOONg labor. At the few deliveries I was able to see during nursing school, the women were famished afterwards and always ordered large quantities of food, usually in the category of "high fat and greasy." DRink fluids (water), rest, and enjoy being Mommy. So happy for you!

Casey usually runs across the street to McDonald's after I give birth. It's delicious.
