Things I'm Thankful For - Day 5

Day 5

Being a Stay at Home Mom

I'm so grateful to God that my husband has a job that provides for us and allows me to be home. Would it be helpful to us financially if I worked? Of course! In our family, is it more helpful spiritually and emotionally if I stay home? Absolutely! When I married James the kids were most excited about me being able to be their room mother and that they could take their lunch to school. They still tell me often that they are so glad they know that if they needed me during the day I would be able to come to them. Their little bruised souls needed that security, and still do. That is worth the financial sacrifice to me. Now things have changed for me during the day. Having Evan here makes my days so fun, exciting and challenging. I love watching him experience "firsts".

I know that in a lot of families you moms make it work. Also there are a lot of you that need to work to make ends meet. Some moms just aren't made to be stay at home moms. I have to hand it to you. I have no idea how you do it!!! I would need to be much more organized!
There will come the day when my kids won't need me as much and I'll probably head back to work. Until then, I will count my blessings and pray that James has a job continually that provides for our needs.

Amen, sister. The laundry and everything else accumulates so fast around here. I am thankful I only need to work one day a week!

You were born to be a mom and you are doing a great job of it!
